Mummy’s a Tree: Farewell Album & Tour
Our dearest Mummy´s a Tree is calling it quits. After a dynamic career of 28 years founder Stefan van den Berg believes it is time for new paths. Mummy’s a Tree made 7 albums and 2 Eps and did supports for dEUS, My Morning Jacket, Big Country, The Long Winters & Sea + Air. In 2022 they released their critically acclaimed album ‘New Song’, recorded in Berlins famous Hansa Studio ‘by the wall’ (think David Bowie, U2 & Depeche Mode) with producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Skin and Regina Spektor).
Mummy’s a Tree says goodbye with an album & tour. The album ‘Mummy Loves Strings’ (release October 4) is a collection of chamber pop songs in the tradition of Rufus Wainwright, Divine Comedy & Nick Drake and will physically only be available in a limited vinyl edition. Which comes packaged in an upcycled version of the cover of their debut record! To receive it before the release date, including a unique Mummy’s a Tree souvenir, use this Presale Link.
The band performs its farewell tour in a special international line-up with Daniel Benyamin (drums), Gordon Ashdown (bass) and Stefan van den Berg (guitar/vocals), visiting the most important German & Dutch places from their career. Beside songs from the new album, the band plays a generous ‘best of’ of their career. Band leader Stefan will take you to the heart of the songs by sharing introspective, therapeutic and funny Mummy facts & fiction. Mummy’s a Tree like you’ve never seen & heard them before.
Dates for these final shows, coming soon.
